Matt Hancock, you hypocritical twat.

The girls in this case did nothing wrong. They drove 5-10 minutes to open countryside to have a walk. They were carrying a take away coffee and were accused of taking a picnic. The whole thing is beyond trivial. Do we really need such small mindedness? There are actual crimes and lockdown breaches going on, get the plod to do something useful and stop those.
Remembering the OP. Hancock thinks the police were in the right in this case. But he also thought it was ok for a government advisor to drive the length of the country plus take a day out for a leisurely drive? Twat.

Five miles is fuck all, go out for a run and you'll easily find yourself five miles from your front door. What happens then? How are runners meant to train, run up and down their roads or 500m laps of their estate? It's not practical.

Derbyshire Police have now apologised to the ladies.

Making Matt Hancock look even more of a cnut. If that were possible.

Matt Hancock makes Jeremy Hunt look like a strong, honest and likeable Health Secretary.

That's because largely Jeremy Hunt was.

Johnson could've done a lot worse than bring Hunt back in to oversee the response to the pandemic.

Hancock just says whatever he feels like to protect his mates. On the press briefing yesterday he was asked if the Christmas relaxation of rules by Boris could be considered 'complacent' as he had suggested the public had become complacent themselves. He never answered the question but babbled on about how the new variant had been the reason for the problems. You know - the new variant that he had publicly spoken about BEFORE Christmas.

The new variant has made an increase in week on week growth but far from being the sole reason, growth in Sept and Oct was about 40% a week (smaller numbers make bigger %s), and dipped to 15-20% in Nov with a levelling off as a result of the circuit break. It then picked up at 15% with a recent surge around 25%. I get the feeling it's a distraction as the numbers have been steadily rising since mid-Sept, we could all see that.
