Cracking goal from Brunt that day as I recall. We were about 5th in the Prem. Moved us on to 33 points from 19 games. Think Gera got injured around that time and bar the odd glimpse (e.g Southampton away and Utd at home) we never hit those heights in the 2nd phase of the season. Still finished a commendable 8th though. Nobody dared move when we scored, for fear of sliding down the bank. Recall Port Vale away one Boxing Day as well. I had a stinking hangover, and it was as cold as fuck RE: Boxing Day aways - SW4Baggie - 12-26-2019 (12-26-2019, 11:33 AM),Cunninghamismagic Wrote:(12-25-2019, 11:51 PM)SW4Baggie Wrote: We beat QPR away under Clarke on Boxing Day as I went back to London stupidly early that morning with a banging hangover. Yup, that Saints away game was completely out of character compared to some of the other performances. In fairness to Clarke, even after a bad run we used to put in some isolated brilliant performances... the 2-1 at OT, and the 2-2 at Stamford Bridge just before he was sacked were excellent. We are also phenomenal for 80 minutes at the Madjeski |
