Can't understand why he didn't go back to the Academy? Very odd reading ?

On a human level, I think it must be very difficult to stay in an organisation where you have had a very senior post and then be moved back to a position of less seniority. Even in these circumstances where the senior position held was always likely to be temporary.

...also, he was perhaps a gnat's whisker away from being next head coach. Living that down would've been hard--both for him and for Bilic.

Why should he go back to the academy? He's clearly got the ability for bigger things. Wouldn't be surprised to see him join DM at Doncaster.

I would. Didn't DM overlook Shan for the number 2 role, despite him doing the job in the last throes of The Prem??

DM learned a costly lesson there, but you can see why he chose Jones over Shan. Shan's made it clear he'd be happy with an assistant's role, DM needs an assistant.

He said himself in the interview he has a passion for coaching and wouldn't rule out going to an academy again so you have to take him at his word.

Begs the question, given his long standing service and great reputation within our academy, why we didn't offer him Harrison's role. Make him head honcho for the whole lot.

Something doesn't make sense in his departure.

If I read it that his passion is for delivering on the training field.

Harrison's old job is very much a management role rather than hands on daily coaching .

We may have offered it to him but reading his comments it looks like he has preferred being a member of a first team set up.

RE: Jimmy Shan E&D - sickParrot - 07-13-2019

Jenkins has offered him a shite deal, he is now on 12 months gardening leave which makes it difficult to move move on as any club offering him a job would need to pay off his wages for 10 or 11 months.
