Enjoyed that. Love the summary:

Laurie Cunningham – classic winger …classic footballer. Just class.

Reduces me to tears when I read this kind of stuff about my all time favourite player. He was simply the best ..and those last words are, indeed, the perfect eiptaph on a gloriously wonderful talent who I had the pleasure of seeing wear the shirt of my beloved club.

Cheers, hadn't noticed that.

To think in 10 years we had the pleasure of watching Clive Clark , Johnston and Cunningham is almost unbelievable looking back.  Those of us who were fortunate to follow Albion in the 60s and 70s were truly blessed.

Chippy was top scorer with 29 goals in 1967, incredible for a winger.

RIP Clive and Laurie.

It's amazing to me, and speaks volumes about the man, that he's still fondly talked about the way he is, decades after he briefly played for us.

Extraordinarily blessed with talent on the wing.

Peter Barnes was outstanding on his good days too. All went downhill with him when his Stourbridge house got burgled.

Although we had a good team back then, he was the one player that made the difference between us challenging for the league title and just being a top 10 team.
Pity we couldn't keep the team together for another couple of seasons.
