Sad news. Top bloke. Met him in York just after uni at a pub not far from the Barbican. Was playing pool with us all.

RE: John Virgo RIP - Josh1873 - 02-04-2026

Sad news. Always great on commentary at the Crucible. I grew up watching Big Break on a Saturday evening, too. I loved that gameshow.

Very sad news. We will never wonder where the cue ball is going any more.

RE: John Virgo RIP - carlito baggie - 02-04-2026

Met him , Davis and Hendry at the World Snooker Championship last year in Sheffield.

Lovely guy but looked a little frail then.

Commentary won't be the same without him. RIP

RE: John Virgo RIP - DemonicBaggie - 02-04-2026

Sad news indeed. His commentary is synonymous with the game.

RIP John. A fine man, good player and great commentator. Definitely a snooker legend all things considered.
