WASPI - Protheroe - 01-29-2026 Well done Labour. Absolutely the correct decision. RE: WASPI - Baggiejacko - 01-29-2026 Might be correct but isn't it the opposite of what they said they would do? And glad to see sanctimony colliding with £10.4bn reality. RE: WASPI - Mouse - 01-29-2026 I am all for equality, but this and previous governments have really screwed over the WASPI women. RE: WASPI - Protheroe - 01-29-2026 The WASPI women screwed themselves over. Yet by and large they're still amongst the most affluent generation that ever existed in this country. Aren't they asking for billions of pounds of taxpayers money because they were too useless to plan their own finances? Fair play. I struggle to have sympathy with anyone in a generation that was given pretty much everything on a plate for free and still fucked it. I imagine a load of these people are still paying rent to the council for a house they could have bought in the 80s for £10k. RE: WASPI - Mouse - 01-30-2026 Ultimately, they had a " social contract" and the goalposts of that contract signifantly moved. I'd have sympathy for any group of people who were told one thing on day one and then towards the end of that agreed period was told "tough luck", even if they were given "notice". The issues around having time to prepare for the changes is a valid one and does mitigate the issue somewhat but I still think they were screwed over, the same way my generation will be when it comes to "retirement" which sadly for me and others like me, likely won't happen. RE: WASPI - Baggiejacko - 01-30-2026 Cheeky old fuckers asking for billions of taxpayers money that was promised them. What are everyone's thoughts on the billions of taxpayers money being payed out to people suddenly suffering with anxiety and depression. Then there's the billions of taxpayers money paid out for people that have been in this country for a matter of days. Then there's the billions of taxpayers money given to foreign aid. So much being given away that it ain't enough now and they need to take more. I never hear insults about these people taking taxpayers money RE: WASPI - Derek Hardballs - 01-30-2026 Take your fingers out your ears then. |
