Greenland - baggy1 - 01-17-2026

Toys and pram spring to mind. Time to cozy up to the EU for at leat the next 3 years.

I'm guessing his generals have told him to do one if he expects them to face off against allies.

RE: Greenland - Borin' Baggie - 01-17-2026

Donald Trump and the Republican Party have fundamentally altered the global perception of the US and significantly eroded the trust of American allies with the exception of Israel, I hope to god the next US president is a Democrat and even then they're going to have an almighty task trying to fix the foreign policy pile of shit that will have been left on the Resolute Desk by the current administration. We need to get closer to Europe, we need to bring South Korea, Japan, Canada (already moving closer to China) and Australia into that circle. There is no pandering to this jackass administration.

Unfortunately, even if the next president is an immaculate politician, people have seen the calibre of politician who can be elected and that the much vaunted US system of "checks and balances" doesn't count for much. Everything has changed now.

It seems obvious to me that Trump is in Putins pocket. A break up of Nato is just what Putin wants. So Trump does his bidding.
Just as Putin wants EU broken up.
So fucking obvious.

There’s an ex Russian I assume spy who is on a US talk show who details exactly how to persuade a country to vote against its own interest for the likes of Trump, Brexit and Farage by making a country polarised, add to that the political tactics of ‘chaos’ that has been implemented for the last 25yrs or so and you get where we are now.

I went there last year. It's honestly the most beautiful place I've ever seen. The living is simple, the scenery is stunning, the people are kind. It's really sad that the locals are being put through this uncertainty when they just want to get on with their lives.

Good news. Fat old fuck wont be with us too much longer. Bad news this MAGA nonsense has poisoned political discord for a generation at least.

RE: Greenland - Protheroe - 01-18-2026

This is all about US / Chinese hegemony. For all the talk of Putin, Trump knows that Russia is weak. It can’t even make advances in Ukraine let alone defend its former ally Syria or the murderous genocidal regime in Iran. The world is being reshaped in front of our eyes.

My hope is that MAGA will die with Trump. The likes of JD Vance don’t possess the force of will Trump has to push it through and can see them descending into infighting and division once he’s gone.

If we are living in Star Wars the current era is The Empire Strikes back.

I expect Corbyn to emerge as Yoda and slay them all in 5 years time.

On a serious note, Trump is completely off his tits. The question is how much longer will he be able to wield the carnage
