Stoke visit - ColliersWoodBaggie - 02-08-2019 Saturday is my 19th visit to Stoke (17 League, 1 Autoglass & 1 friendly) at the Brit/Bet 365 Stadium & the Victoria Ground. First visit was Dec 1979, lost 2-3. I missed 4 there in the 90s when I was living in London and I missed the Hodgson draw and the three previous visits before I went last season. So I could have potentially clocked up 27 visits there in my time as an Albion fan. We can't get rid of 'em. PS - Saw Hull there as well, so it is my 20th overall. They won 3-2 and that was the first time I'd ever seen the away side win there - I was there for the 2-1 when Dorrans scored. RE: Stoke visit - shadman - 02-08-2019 Can't claim 19 visits to our Oatcake friends, but my first is indelibly stamped. A 2-0 win at the Victoria ground, 76-77 with Statham on his debut. I was 16, went on the train with a mate. That was an experience! Garth Crooks hat trick if I remember right? 3 visits to the Vic and only 1 as of yet to the Brit for me. RE: Stoke visit - KratosBaggie - 02-08-2019 I've been twice. That's enough. Everyone was raving about him after the match. Stunning debut. RE: Stoke visit - Derek Hardballs - 02-08-2019 Whatever happens it’ll be cold, windy and probably wet... welcome to Stoke welcome to the Britannia. Forecast is high winds. Haven't they had games called off there for strong winds? Probably my best awayday there....(02-08-2019, 09:28 AM)Derek Hardballs Wrote: Whatever happens it’ll be cold, windy and probably wet... welcome to Stoke welcome to the Britannia. Needless to say, we got thumped 1-4 in the rearranged game. Houlty let a goal in when the ball was travelling that slowly it was gathering moss. Koumas stupidly got sent off and missed a few PL games the season after. |
