Player Ratings v Boro - MrFizz - 08-26-2023

Palmer 7 One good save, distribution good.
Furlong 5 Sorry Darnell, looked poor today
Ajayi 7 Decent
Kipre 7.5 as above, extra .5 for that finish
Pieters 6 Couple of brain farts
Phillips 8 The August Matty
Yokuslu 7 Shape went to pieces when he went off
Molumby 7 Usual buzzing about
Swift 7.5 Some good passes, great goal
BTA 7 Worked aaard, good finish
Wallace 6.5 Not bad, not great either

Subs:
Maja 6
Sarmiento 7.5
Chalobah 5
Mowatt 6.5
Townsend 6.5

Agree mostly.
Think Maja was closer to a 7 and Wallace no more than 6.

Mowett did well when he came on, but he needs to work on his first touch. The number if times he received the ball today from Kipre/ Ajayi when facing his own goal and then nearly losing it happened far too often for my liking.

Kipre was MOTM for me. Just. Great goal and was imperious for 70 minutes - but he was one of the players guilty of taking things far too casually after Boro went down to 10 men. Everyone else played well tbf.

As good as Phillips has been Kipre pipped him for MoM today he was immense.

I thought Wallace did fine, shuffled around a lot as ever to compensate for other weaknesses around the team. Maja might prove a steal. Early days yet but there is something about his attitude that indicates he will be an asset.

Tend to agree on Maja. Early days and feeling his way back - but what he lacks in pace he has in football intelligence.

It’s incredible just how lacking in football nous a lot of this squad is

Some stingy marks there. Kipre, BTA and Sarmiento all deserve higher. Very well taken goals from all three and not as easy as they made it look.

Giving Chalobah 5 means everyone else should be at least 15
