Andy Carroll - SW4Baggie - 07-23-2022

Wonder if Brucie is digging out his mobile number yet?

After the failed Belgium move his future has gone very quiet.

Still think he could work with Dike.

Going to Hibs.

Really?
Guessing those 20k wage demands have dropped substantially….

I wouldn't be adverse to giving Carroll a call and seeing where he is at, but there may well be underlying fitness issues. If he was willing to accept pay per play/sub, instead of his slightly ridiculous ask of about 30 to 40K, considering he was on 10K at Reading and we slightly bettered that and added bonuses last season. Don't get me wrong, his commitment and professionalism compared to our long term contracted players last season was a testament for his desire to still play competitively at a high level, and put those contracted players to shame.

Hope Brucey picks up the phone TBH, but Carroll needs to be realistic in his wages, fees and fitness. Essex is a long drive too.

Scotland is quite far away from a palatial mansion in Essex with his now wife and 2 kids.

Exactly.

Believe he was on £1k a week at Reading and closer to £10k with us.

At £5-10k a week with decent bonuses for appearances and goals I’d bite Carroll’s hand off. It would be a risk but he showed last season just how effective he can be and he genuinely seemed to be happy to be here and playing.

It seems bizarre that many (myself included) would be happy with Carroll and his poor goal return, Co.pared with Grant.

Oh not at all, if Grant's fit he starts.

Just more that I'd personally rather have Carroll come on the pitch as sub than Zahore. And likewise if unfortunately Dike or Grant are unavailable.

Take him over Zohore any day

Also, the quality of cross Wallace is capable of, it would be criminal not to have Big Andy’s head coming crashing into the 6 yard box. Wallace is the first player we’ve had who is capable of consistently reliable dead ball delivery since Brunt
