Fulham - Bruce has to brave now - Hopalong - 03-12-2022

We really needed 3 points last night and so really need 3 points on Tuesday!

Bruce is gradually weeding out the chaff and last night albeit for only 10 minutes, he played Diangana in his best position and we looked menacing albeit Diang's crossing was woeful.  He's not the sharpest knife in the box Steve but seems to be getting there in his own time - problem is games are running out fast.

What does he do with Johnstone?

We looked great for the last 10 minutes if a little vulnerable to the counter-attack. Nevertheless it's time for brave hearts and I would therefore start with the team that finished, go for the jugular and see what happens.

           Johnstone

         Ajayi-Clarke
TGH                      Townsend
           Livermore
 Mowatt              Diangana
           Robinson

       Carroll - Grant

Difficult to draw arrows but TGH and Townsend need to push on (Ajayi too - as and when - as he has been doing in the last two games) and Livermore needs to play a very disciplined role shielding the CBs.

A back 4, Diang in the middle and removing the only legs we have there in TGH?

We’d be 4-0 down by HT!

Fulham would fucking smash that team.

No,  Diang wide on the left like he was last night for the last 10 minutes.

Play we team we started with and there's no way we'll win.

Go all out attack and we might.

Did they what?

We gave them two goals and murdered them the last ten minutes with the above team and should have won had we had a bit more composure.

Ajayi and Clarke are all about "pushing on". That's why we concede so many goals even when playing 3 CBs. Kipre and O'Shea are our best centre-backs for a pair. Your line-up looks a bit suicidal to me.
