I managed 27 miles at 4.21 miles per hour once. Not many people can manage that.

I know a Scottish lad who claimed to have walked 500 miles, said he’d do it again. Never mentioned pace though.

25 miles on the Wainright coast to coast. Hardest day I've ever walked though was the Rhyd ddu path on Snowdon after a serious brush with the big C (and I don't mean Cyrille). I blubbed when I got to the top. The mph figures quoted above are not to be sniffed at over those distances - fair play ponners.

Does running count? 1000 MTRS Peaks Race, Snowdonia. 23 miles, 8500 ft ascent, 5 hrs 25 mins. Finish on Snowdon summit, and a nice 5 mile stroll off the summit back to base.
