Great. Exclusive talks next week. At best a scramble at the car boot sale on 31st Jan to save ourselves.

It's a cross your fingers and hope we get a good one situation. Whoever we get is going to own a championship club in May.

Fire sale. Highest bidder. Probably the worst investor.

The Mark Campbell fella being linked sounds like someone we should be steering well clear of.

He’s been linked scattergun style to lots of different clubs, owns a property company with no assets in NYC registered in a little office block in Sidcup and has a bankruptcy to his name from when his pub went under in 2010 and sexual harassment accusations...

My concern is that Lai will sell to anyone who fronts him cash, with zero fucks given about how that money is raised.

All that different from JRP??

I agree about Campbell. It has an ego trip in a "phoney Tony" kind of way all over it.

+1

It won't end well. Sadly.

The danger is that it’s a leveraged sale and the buyer is allowed to use future parachute payments to buy the club

That way the current owner effectively sells on the basis of some money now and then takes the circa £45m parachute money when its paid. It obviously allows someone to buy the club who couldn’t otherwise afford the asking price

This is how Sunderland got brought from Ellis Short ...
