Speculate to accumulate - Huggybear - 10-05-2020

As a club we should have a genuine transfer policy for the modern era but instead we find ourselves with the same stale policy of having a low budget and trying to work to that miserly £20million or so.Lai if had anything about him would speculate in buying young talented player’s even if not quite first team ready with the knowledge to sell at a profit later on.Perreira and Diangana for example easy profit .I know Wolves have got the super agent but they have broke even on the buying and selling this season and that’s because they buy young players who they can sell on at a later date.Chelsea for example over the years have bought young players who they know will either make it or if not go on loan somewhere for big money. So there are ways to break even but you need to speculate to accumulate. We need a policy of buying young even if it means filling up our under 23’s.It might mean spending big for a season but always in the knowledge you have big assets that may or not need to be sold to break even the following year.Instead we are going to go down the same route where we have still got stale players still in our squad Bartley,Phillips and Livermore are just a few with no real value.Lets think big and have a plan where we can still make a profit but by speculating on young talented players who will have a big resale value.

You and I know it, those running the club, apparently don`t.

None of us actually know the full financials or what the cost of any players we may bring in will be though. For example, if we spunk £16m on Grant, will this post then be completely pointless?

The buying of talented players is not that hard ,let’s be honest if you’ve watched all the Championship games from last year any supporter with any knowledge knows the standout players from every club.Grant for example is low risk especially if you can get him for nearer the 13million.If he scores goals in the Premier League then his price doubles and if not and we get relegated he stays and is a proven scorer in the Championship.

We lack direction from the top down. Madeley’s article in our semi detached owner makes a lotta sense.

And the money for said players cones from?

Our owner has no money.

Most players lose value too.

He has money but chooses not to spend a bit is probably/maybe more closer to the truth .

If he has money it's most certainly not liquid so he wouldn't be able to spend it.

He's worth 2.6bn so I would guess he could put £200m in without too much effort. Fact is he doesn't want to, won't ever and so we might has well forget he even exists.

For all you know, £2.599bn of that is tied in assets and he's got £1m to play with.
