Nah I just stopped home for four weeks. RE: UK Covid death toll - Protheroe - 12-08-2020 (12-08-2020, 12:24 PM)baggy1 Wrote: And what do those ONS screenshots come from? Just a bit of context please for your conspiracy theories. The latest ONS survey, dated 4 December - the national statistician has downgraded its estimate of coronavirus in England on 17 October to just 4.89 people per 10,000. And it now says the the incidence of coronavirus in England barely increased until after the start of lockdown - and even during lockdown it says the prevalence never got above 6.62 per 10,000 (on 12 November). Decisions are being made that drastically affect our lives using data which is then MASSIVELY revised down afterwards. This is fuckwittery of the highest order. On furlough? WFH? Retired? Or living on fresh air? So basically you are saying that there was an estimate made that didn't occur, and the rising number of hospitalisations and deaths that did occur don't mean anything. And you wonder why your point about leaving it up to the common sense of the public is what we should do is questioned. WFH, as I have been since March. Can't see my in an office full time again as long as I stay in my current job. Fresh air helps as well. No, I'm *basically* saying that the statistical basis for the second lockdown was flawed. As was the statistical basis for the first lockdown. We're being terrified into submission by stats, which then turn out to be wildy inaccurate. RE: UK Covid death toll - baggy1 - 12-08-2020 And you think that they just sit around looking at one stat RE: UK Covid death toll - Derek Hardballs - 12-08-2020 Well six kids were off ill in one class at my sons school last week. I've know four people who have sadly died and one on a ventilator none of them were in their 80-90's. Let's get back to normal. RE: UK Covid death toll - baggy1 - 12-08-2020 Over 10k excess deaths over the past 7 weeks measured (from week ended 16th October to the week ended 27th November) which includes 3 weeks with restrictions, let's ignore that and get apoplectic about an estimated stat.
