Yes the fertility will be less of an issue for older folk. However the interaction with other medications is a bigger issue. I can speak from experience with this as it has taken 12 months to get the balance right for my Dad's cocktail of medications. I am sure he won't be the only elder person in this position seeing as medication seems to be handed out like smarties these days.

That is a concern that I haven't heard discussed and you would think this would be an important point that will affect many older folk. Also my point about the fertility isn't applicable to the care / NHS workers and really should be addressed, if only to placate with similar examples / likelihoods etc. Silence doesn't help in these matters.

Last night’s national Coronavirus data release revealed the prevalence of the disease in Wales has returned to almost 300 cases per 100,000 – the same level as before Drakeford instituted his 19th October “firebreak” lockdown. The case rate overseen by the First Minister is almost double that in England; the “short, sharp” lockdown in Wales was Sir Keir’s pet policy – sold as a means to squash the disease enough to allow the economy to open up after it ended – and has failed miserably. Wales now has both a higher disease rate than England’s tier 3 areas, and harsher restrictions across the whole country…

You've got a bit of a hard on for Sir Keir this morning, any lockdown is going to fail if you allow people to continue to move around and go across the border for a pint, needs to be done on a national level otherwise it's pointless. And for some reason you think a lockdown is going to get rid of the virus, it's a blunt tool to stop it being worse than it is. I see Melbourne has allowed it's first passenger flight into the city after 5 months.
In England we've still got over 12k in hospital with covid and we've opened up again, what do you think will happen to that number now?

After 9 months of this virus you are still not getting it, this is about reducing the spread until we get a vaccine.

Proth living in an alternative world as ever. You’re going to have to explain how those shielding who are reliant on their family for care can safely do this if family members have to go to work or school.

I'm bored of hearing myself say this now, but 12M over 65s in the UK is 20% of the population, plus care workers, hospital staff, families that live together or are the main carer for their older relative - we're talking at least 30% of the population there as a minimum.
Then there are 18M under 20 who are pretty much going on as normal anyway but they will need teachers / lecturers that will be potentially in that vulnerable group.
All this so we can have the pub open, fucks sake man, the vaccine is on the way - it's been proven that lockdowns keep the virus spread from increasing exponentially and that not having them doesn't work. What do you want them to do, just open up?

They can’t say it though because it makes them look bad, so they go around the houses with excuses, play down the seriousness, put the onus on those shielding with fantasy scenarios or stop just stop short of saying.
