Did that about 12 years ago, still living off the brownie points. I got through it by drinking very heavily and getting through a pack of marlboro lights.

I feel your pain. I'd recommend 6 pints of scrumpy and a pack of Temazepam (although I'm technically not actually a doctor).

I thought they only served prosecco at Take That concerts as it's the only thing the audience drinks.

When I lived in Manchester we had a mate who worked security at the Etihad. He always said the worst days for trouble weren't the Manchester derbies, or the likes of Oasis or any massive lad rock band.... it was Take That. Pissed up Lambrini mums causing trouble AOTS.

Takes me back. Saw them so many times back in the day. Can't beat a bit of 0-0 after extra time ....

Must admit I was trying to ignore the fact that I'm going to see both Take That and Harry Styles this year unless I can duck them by have a stroke or something beforehand.

On a brighter note the Cowboy Junkies, Deary and Horsegirl are all touring this year, I hear, so looking forward to them.

I did a lot of event security work until my health issues a couple of years ago and out of all the gigs I ever worked at (at venues like The Roundhouse, Hammersmith Apollo, Wembley Arena, Wembley Stadium, The O2, Tottenham Stadium and The London Stadium) the worst crowd was for the Spice Girls reunion shows at Wembley Stadium. The "lambrini mums" who'd started drinking at 10am that day and were 3/4's pissed by the time the venue opened - we turned so many away that day. Fighting, pissing on the concourse because they were too drunk to find a toilet, falling over and smashing their faces on the concrete floor. All staff was so glad when the show finished and we got rid of them all.
The next worse was at The KissFM Halloween Haunted House shows at Wembley Arena just before the lockdown. 95% of the audience were travellers, who'd decided amongst themselves that that was the night to settle inter family scores. Fighting each other everywhere. In the end, The Met locked down the whole of the Wembley park area, until the dickheads had all gone.

Yeah that tallies with what my mate used to say.

Anna Von Hausswolff was magnificent, last night. Originally, it should've been at a venue in Islington, but was upgraded to The Electric, Brixton. That too sold out and in fact, could probably have been upgraded to a venue that was bigger than that.
A great setlist, a superb band and my god, that woman can sing. What a voice.

RE: Next Concert Thread - Duffers - 02-04-2026

Me and a few mates have all booked to go to Cardiff for a weekend in July where we will be seeing David Byrne.

RE: Next Concert Thread - richbaggie - 02-04-2026

Underworld at the Brixton Academy on Friday. 30 year anniversary of Born Slippy (how mad is that...30 years!)

RE: Next Concert Thread - Bromley Baggie 2 - 02-04-2026

Got a couple in March that I'm interested in. Not got any tickets yet, but hopefully be able to sort some out.

Powerwolf, Hammerfall and Wind Rose at Wembley Arena on the 7th March. Hoping to blag a couple of freebies seeing as I worked there as long as I did. Need to speak to some friends. I could just do with an evening of power metal.

John Otway and his Band. Otway returns to The New Cross Inn on 16th March, where I saw him almost 12 months ago to the day.

Edit to say: Anybody in the Black Country who may be interested, Otway & Barrett are playing The Robin 2 in Bilston on 22nd February.
