First choice player for a top 6 side in League 1, whilst in his very early 20s (still a young age for that position) suggests there is talent that should only improve with experience.

If we can get a fee for him and use the funds to improve the squad then fine, but writing him off as never going to be good enough seems extremely previous.

I don't think anyone has said that? He might be good enough in the future, Sam Field would add to our squad now, should we have waited for four years to find out? Chances are he wouldn't be the player he is now, if he'd of spent all that time sat on our bench. Was let go at a similar point to where Taylor is now.

If he was going to break into and hold down a spot in our team, he needed to have done it by now, he isn't a kid any more. Countless managers haven't fancied him, even Val who was so wedded to playing a back three - which would be ideal for blooding a young CB - didn't give him a sniff.

We're looking at replacing him with Beckmann, who is younger and has more experience in a better league already. The deals make perfect sense if we can make it happen.

I think Duffers literally said that. And to be fair thise posts that weren't literally saying he wouldn't improve were very negative.

Like I said I'm not against selling players if you can used the funds raised to improve the squad.

And Field is a perfectly decent player, but he wouldn't be a first choice pick here and central midfield is an area we still need to improve.

Benjamin Nelson a left sided centre half from Leicester is another Rumour.

Chris Mepham from Bournemouth is the latest centre half to be linked.

Coup and a half that is.

Especially if Taylor moves on and fully pays for it.

We look strong at CB then. Mepham, Phillips, Bielik and Campbell is as good as it gets in this league.

It's also a very impressive set of CBs to have created in one summer and all for less than we sold Heggem for.

Excellent business here!

If we were able to get a couple million for Taylor and pick up the Swede linked for 500k, we've done phenomenal business.

Let's hope we can plug the remaining gaps and give Mason what he needs!

Signing Mepham will surely end interest in Beckman.

Depends, if we're not looking at any more CMs because Bielik is seen as a defensive option in there, and Campbell is seen as a utility player. Another proper CB might be in the cards.

Leaves us some serious work in attacking areas to do though.

Percy reporting Furlong to Ipswich for 4 million.

I am a fan of Darnell, but fuck me if that's true I'll drive him myself.
