RE: Next Concert Thread - Solihull Throstle - 10-23-2019

She Drew the Gun - Nov
De Staat - Nov
Slow Readers Club - Dec
Next year (so far) - The Murder Capital, Jah Wobble, Tom Robinson, Bearded Theory festival, Beautiful Days festival

RE: Next Concert Thread - TooMuchTooYoung - 10-23-2019

Saw the Murder Capital at the Dome a couple of weeks ago and they were superb.  They built up their set gradually with slower songs at first, increasing the tempo (more more more)  Smile - great band. Real presence on stage.
Also saw Snapped Ankles at the Boileroom (aptly named venue - small and molten) last week.  They were ace - great fun everyone jumping around.
Fontaines DC in November then Amyl and the Sniffers in December with Idles two days later.  I will be a broken man  Big Grin

RE: Next Concert Thread - Sliced - 10-23-2019

Swans in London next year

I'm working at KISS FM Haunted House Party featuring Stormzy, Sean Paul and others I've never heard of, Nicky Jam (a reggae artist) and Havasi (a Hungarian classical pianist) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively. Then Rahat Fateh Ali  Khan at the beginning of November (also at the SSE Arena), Ghost at The SSE Arena on November 22nd.

I'm actually seeing a gig that I've bought a ticket for: German/Norwegian/Danish "experimental folk band" Heilung at The Roundhouse on 10th November. Oh, and I'm going to see Devin Townsend at The Roundhouse in December.

Only the words "avant garde jazz" would strike more fear into my heart.... Big Grin

Wedding Present on Sunday night. Bizarro 30th anniversary tour.

Ride in December.

Ruminating on a few others, thankfully all at the Institute and not the awful Academy.

Loffin'. They play traditional, pre Christian Germanic/old Norse music, taken from ancient texts. I discovered them by accident a few months ago, while surfing on YouTube. I watched a complete show called LIFA, that was recorded at a festival in Germany a couple of years ago. I was blown away by it and I bought a ticket for The Roundhouse as soon as they went on sale.

Fair play. I'll give 'em a listen.

Saw The Murder Capital too at Castle and Falcon. Outstanding. Best new band for me this decade.
Love Snapped Ankles too but not managed to see live yet, same with Squid. So much brilliant new music around.

Fourtet curates. Looking forward to him and Jon Hopkins.

Was there for Drumcode last week. The new venue is superb.
