I wouldnt be surprised for an unexpected departure - maybe Diakite or Taylor who are well down the pecking order and could raise some £. They would then need replacing also

We need Diakité to help close out games and cover the gaps in the middle as he's been used this season, I wouldn't be comfortable just having Collyer for that. Also have to factor in we've got 4 midfielders for 2 positions which is pretty much the bare minimum for a 46 game season with injuries and rotation in midfield.

If he were to go then he would need replacing for sure - he could be a decent PSR generator and not sure he starts every week. Wouldnt surprise me if he did move on if there is interest in him

Not really, his returns haven't been bad recently.

Had two very good seasons with Blackburn but his move to Spain didn't work out... 23/24 he got 6 goals and an assist in 14 PL games with Sheff Utd as they got relegated, and he still got 4 goals and 3 assists in 17 games last year in half a season in the Champ.

He's only just turned 26 too so I wouldn't be against it at the right price.

I think he's proven at this level and he's versatile as SW4 says. A season-long loan with an option to buy might be one way of approaching it, but he's also obviously out of favour at Southampton so we might get him for a low fee. He may want to leave Southampton given how he was treated by Martin last season (made to play for U21s). He could also fancy a move further north to be nearer his place of birth (Stoke).

Get him firing on all cylinders and he's a fine player.
