I think a few need to appreciate what he offers a little more.

For the quoted fee we'd not have a chance in hell of replacing him.

+1

For a couple of million I'd rather us keep him even if it means him going for free next Summer. He might yet sign a contract extension if we offered it

Agree completely. And nobody in the squad can do what he does.

Price who is already our most talented player is a couple of years away from having the know how and ability to dictate and manage a game in the same way.

Diakite doesn't have the vision or speed of thought to manage himself let alone dictate the game. He's a player to use in very specific scenarios, like the last 15 on Saturday for example.

Molumby again, can't manage his own game effectively let alone be trusted to marshall the midfield.

For us to sign a player capable of doing the things Mowatt does more times than not if would cost us a lot of money.

With the work we have to do between now and the end of the window - Mowatt is one I dont think we can replace or should replace, so its a no brainer to keep him.

I like Molumby but him and Mowatt do struggle together and I think we need someone to come in with better vision and ball playing than Molumby to play alongside Mowatt. His numbers are excellent, and I know he is one of the bigger earners but the cost to replace him would be way more significant than the saving of him going/fee we would get for him

Yes, totally agree. Selling Mowatt for that sort of money, just sounds like we're having a fire sale and leaves us a lot weaker than we are.

Pelle Mattsson, 24 year old Danish centre midfielder. £2.5m on a 4 year deal apparently. Was wanted by Portsmouth and Norwich

Sounds just the type we need: long, accurate diagonals, capable of playing as a holding player or further forward and is a strong ball carrier but needs some refining.

Decent scouting report…

Sound like a new Mowatt?
