RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - Wimborne Baggie - 08-10-2025 really , those wanting mowatt to leave need to start watching a few games RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - wba13 - 08-10-2025 Well if that happens { I can’t see it } it’s come out of nowhere. RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - Lurker#3 - 08-10-2025 For those who think it would be easy to replace Mowatt... We would only need to find a midfielder who, last season, was in the; - Top 9% of midfield goal scorers (FROM HOLDING MIDFIELD) - Top 7% of progressive passers - Top 4% for passes into the final 1/3 - Top 7% for passes completed - Top 18% for tackles won in attacking 1/3 - Top 4% for both carries and progressive carries - Top 10% for aerial duels won - Top 24% for shot creating actions (FROM HOLDING MIDFIELD) I think a few need to appreciate what he offers a little more. He’ll be 31 next summer and at the moment may fetch £2m RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - Stillclem4england - 08-10-2025 (08-10-2025, 05:04 PM)Wimborne Baggie Wrote: really , those wanting mowatt to leave need to start watching a few gamesHe played well yesterday. He was the best player along with Kipre in 23/24. However, he is 31 (?), has a year left, decent earner I imagine and we are trying to get the average age down. We also have Diakite, who whilst very different, offers a lot. RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - Wimborne Baggie - 08-10-2025 we also are looking to achieve something this year are we not ? RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - Remi_Moses - 08-11-2025 Mowatt is extremely underrated. He is by far our best MF player. To lose him would be a body blow, with better players around him he would get a little more freedom and would show he real potential value. Let's hang on to our better players.. RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - Johnnykayeengland - 08-11-2025 I'm with Remi. I hate us having to think like a selling club (I know.. it's the financial reality), but I want to keep our better players, and especially those few like Fellows who've come through the ranks. Football fans need heroes, not a good bank balance. I don't look back on the two great teams I've watched and think..."that was great. We made a profit". I think "That was great. I saw Astle, Brown, Clark, Cunningham, Regis, Robson....a very good article on the Liquidator saying this, but better. I'll try to post a link. RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - ElbowGrease1973 II - 08-11-2025 It could all be pure speculation anyway, with no real substance. I think we have to trust the overall process when it comes to transfer policy though. If, and probably a big if, we can sell Mowatt on, and then find a younger, better version, then it's clearly good business. Remember it's what Sunderland did or the last 3 or so years, and now they're giving it a real go in the Prem, having improved year on year on the back of their transfer dealings. It's the sad reality, but I fully agree with you. I never watched Bomber thinking joyfully of the profit we'd make when we sold him and the Robson/Moses money did us little good anyway. |
