RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Cheshire East Baggie - 06-10-2023 Aussies looking good for a win here, although it's not over yet. I'd rather they come into the Ashes feeling confident and complacent, not bruised and battered with some pride to restore. Their bowling will be the biggest challenge yet for our swashbuckling bazballers. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Cuzer - 06-10-2023 India fighting back well but still a massive ask Seeing Jadeja get this turn you would imagine Lyon will be a handful when the Indians come to bat Cuzer RE: It's The Ashes (again) - rsbaggy2 - 06-10-2023 (06-10-2023, 11:06 AM)Cuzer Wrote: India fighting back well but still a massive askThink the Aussies already have enough runs on the board. Can't see anything other than a defeat for India ... a consequence of the afternoon session on day 1. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - SuperBob2002 - 06-10-2023 Didn't realise this was a 6 day test. Plenty of time to chase down whatever Australia set with sensible batting. Aussies are obviously favourites, and it'll be tough to lose from this position! RE: It's The Ashes (again) - MancBaggie - 06-10-2023 (06-10-2023, 11:06 AM)Cuzer Wrote: India fighting back well but still a massive ask Compounds the Ashwin error really Even if India knock the Aus over for 225 ish - they won’t be able to chase these 100 runs too many on day 1 RE: It's The Ashes (again) - SuperBob2002 - 06-10-2023 (06-10-2023, 12:04 PM)MancBaggie Wrote:I know this is an oversimplification but let's say Australia build a lead of 500 runs and are all out on the last ball of the day. There's still 6 session left. India would require just over 80 runs per session to chase a potential 500 runs to win. That's very doable in theory.(06-10-2023, 11:06 AM)Cuzer Wrote: India fighting back well but still a massive ask However it's a long time to bat, and the pitch is looking more and more difficult to bat on. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - rsbaggy2 - 06-10-2023 Very contentious decision against Gill. Seems as though the ball touched the ground with Green's palm facing down. Not Out, couldn't see any doubt RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Hughie Reed 31 - 06-10-2023 Difficult call, I thought the batsman would get the benefit.
