I'm surprised we didn't try for Ashley Phillips who has also gone to Stoke

Correct

Given we have signed two players who can play central defence, plus a central defender who was out on loan last season is for now in the squad, why would we want another central defender.

Phillips joined Stoke a few weeks ago now, I was just saying I thought he was one we would have been interested in.

I was a bit surprised we went for Nat Phillips given how Nestor has spoken about how he wants us to play and if Heggem goes I hope we would bring in a replacement. Campbell seems to be the back-up for both full-backs currently and Mason hasn't seemed to fancy Taylor as of yet in pre-season
That is totally fair. Heggem sold for £6m+ and Phillips in as replacement would not have weakened us much or even at all IMO. However, maybe Phillips wanted to go back?

Loans are often the difference between promotion or not and clubs are already making good loan acquisitions (Stoke, Derby with Clark etc). Ours have been lousy since Barnes. Let’s hope not this season.

Spurs also have Vuskovic that may be available for loan, I’d argue he’s as good as Phillips at centre back and there will be many others at other clubs.

I’m sure there will be plenty of loan deals going through now as we are at the point when they start to filter through. I expect us to get a couple at least and I’m confident we’re working on securing them.

*Looks forward to the arrivals of Mason Holgate and Lewis Dobbin.

As talks for Tyler Dibling progress between Everton and Southampton, rumours that Fellows is being targetted as the replacement.

If so we must ask north of £20m

Nectarios Triantis. Can play centre mid, centre back and left back. 22 year old Aussie at Sunderland. Not played many games for them, loaned out to Hibs last season where he was nominated for the SFWA player of the year award

Is this a suggestion or are we linked?

Google him and all the speculation is about Derby, not us.

It’s a cryptic clue I have no idea if linked or not.

I don't know about cryptic but it's an anagram of something very nasti.

Hibs want him back as well.
