Hardly sounds like the profile we are after though

Bamford is on 70k a week at Leeds and looked crocked in his brief injury free cameos last season.

An absolute no from me on any deal/terms.

The article online mentioned Leeds are willing to accept £3m for him! Given his wages, age and general decline in recent years I wouldn't even take him without a fee.

£3m to take him off their hands? Still no thanks.

Has Wrexham written all over it…

They love collecting ageing, injury prone strikers!

Apparently they're in for Kiefer Moore. I'd imagine Sheff Utd are keen to offload him given he looked past his best last season.

Wrexham agreed £2m for Kieffer Moore and are signing Conor Coady from Leicester too. Two decent short-term signings for them I feel.

Moore in particular I felt could have done a job for us when we were crying out for a focal point up top and we signed Adam Armstrong instead.

Conor Coady is woeful. Leicester won’t believe their luck.

RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - Man from delmonte - 08-01-2025

They're the sort of players who will help them stay up but they're both way past their best and will be on big wages to attract them to a small club like Wrexham. Also got to say, I'd imagine that both Leicester and Sheff Utd are pissing themselves laughing that they have managed to bank £2m for both of these.

I wonder if Wrexham need a right winger? I can think of a perfect candidate who is readily available and was very good in the past who they may wish to sign.

Fits their model at the moment - it’s very much based on older heads, experience…

It's sensible. They play a 3-5-2, big lump up front and some strong experienced heads across the back. They'll be no pushovers.

It's led to 3 promotions in 4 seasons under Parkinson, but I do think the Championship is a different ball game - it's relentless, and they're not currently attracting the same level of quality through older players compared to the last few seasons.

O'Brien is a very good signing for them in midfield - was outstanding for Swansea last year.

RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - Jacko - 08-01-2025

The Championship is where their model will stall, you can bulldoze your way through the lower leagues with old heads who are a class above the level they are playing.

Unlike others I'm quite relaxed about the away game, despite all the media around it, I don't think they'll be a great side this season.

RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - Dumbo - 08-01-2025

Moore and Coady are exactly the type of signings we should be steering clear of.

Coady, never rated. Moore I wanted us to sign years ago, but not now
