Not necessarily true, at least not so short term, wages are the far bigger problem and players from abroad, especially from less illustrious football nations tend to be much cheaper wage and sign on fee wise, so we can afford to use some money towards a fee.
Our new owners don't seem to be stupid, they'll know what we can and can't do.

I'm hoping that's true, about the owners.
Maybe we've finally got someone who buys before they sell, thus putting us into a better position re accepting bids, while not seeing prices go up because we have income.
