Simple really.

Maybe the club would prefer Deeney or Gray but Slav thinks Silva would offer more?

Ho-Ho Silva lining?

Slav may see him as another good prospect but I doubt he has more to offer than Deeney or Grant?   Deeney scored more than Haller and Joelinton combined last season.

Brilliant. Would go straight in the first 11 next to Sawyers and Livermore for me.

Gallagher is a good player, but Davies is experienced for his age, and we’d be able to buy him.

There’s a place for loan deals, but if we can buy players that fit a long term plan, it’s more preferable.

Disagree with this. Gallagher is a very good player, but Chelsea have just spent £200million on new players. They are so well stocked in midfield and will be for years to come. A successful loan this season and Gallagher could want to join permanently.

West Brom. Zohore wages proving a massive problem in Sheff Wed deal. Baggies prefer a sale. Owls would do a buy. But even a loan a stretch because he got a promotion rise to top money. Still trying. But difficult.

But if we did that, some fucker would be complaining that we'd spent money, & we hadn't  imroved this years team.   Rolleyes

I wouldn’t be against the loan signing of Gallagher, he’s an excellent player who would add a short term fix to our midfield... I’m just saying that given I’m pretty sure we’ll get relegated regardless of who we add this summer, I’d rather we spent our funds on permanent players who will either be here next year, or increase in value instead of paying the large loan fees Chelsea will demand for a short term fix.

If we survive and keep him, brilliant, but I think it’ll take more than him on loan to keep us up.

I must have missed where it’s been announced Gallagher is the only signing we are making.

Either way, the debate was regarding bringing in Davies or Gallagher. I stick to my opinion of Gallagher being the better player and more of what we need. I’d rather loan first then buy Gallagher than buy Davies now.
