I'm not going to be overly critical of the approach, as I'm a massive advocate of the positive intent. That said, when Lyons got injured there was a massive opportunity to wear down the pace attack, but we lost wickets unnecessarily, and played into the Aussies hands.

Unfortunately the Aussies are the best test team in the world at the moment, and man for man are better than us. Hopefully we can nick the odd test and avoid a whitewash at home, and then when we play in Oz next time, a few of their key players will have retired.  Smile

I don't think this arrogance is an ECB problem, the elitism arrogance is an altogether separate issue.

Their is an absolute belief that the aggressive route is for us and there's a fine line between confidence and arrogance.  They're so confident it's the right approach and the "no blame" culture when they give their wickets away breeds it.  When Brook was swinging and missing last night and almost got clean bowled he just laughed about it.  Stokes is smiling from the other end!  He should have come drown the pitch and bollocked him.

This confidence\arrogance is coach and captain driven in a cult-like approach towards "We play this way, win or lose".  Which is slightly different to the Kohli arrogance towards umpires and the opposition who have the audacity to get or give him out.
Sorry .. the very top of the playing team and management.

Kohli obsession reached new heights.

Don't look at all the ages of the England team.... it doesn't make for pretty reading.

I just thought I'd relate it back to Indian cricket to help you see it.  We all know you're a cyclops in that respect.

And yes I agree the top from the playing/players persepective.  They're unlikely to back down any time soon which could see a few comfortable Aussie wins and England will probably smash them in a dead rubber and claim Baz Ball works after all.

Stokes is no Mike Brierely.  At the moment his batting isn't at a level to justify a place and he can't bowl with the injuries.  Helluva call...

I know we've got some reaching the end of their career too. We'll both have significantly different first elevens when we play them in Oz. I'm just hoping that they miss their key players more. Here's hoping anyway.

England bowling well at the moment, Australia respond with 22 dot balls in a row. Making it very tough to take a clump of wickets. England take note.

So when I say plenty indulge in the dark arts you will only accept it if I specifically name Kohli?
Cyclops yes.... if you're referring to others.

Where does it say plenty indulge in the dark arts?

Where is Cuzer anyway, he's not usually far from a cricket thread.

He's dissecting the ICEC report.

Labuschagne looked plum. Why was that not reviewed? Awful decision by the umpire.
