I think Lankshear will be a very good Champ striker next season, and I think if he's interested it would make sense for him to come back here for 12 months. If we could land him and Ashley Phillips on season long loans it would fix two problem positions for us, and Phillips has the ability to play at fullback if we needed some emergency cover there. It wouldn't surprise me if Dike wanted to go back to the US - it would be much easier on his body than the rigours of the Championship and it doesn't benefit anyone for him to have to be wrapped in cotton wool for 60% of the season, or worse yet, suffer another long term injury. The issue with him is that he cost us £7M, and we'd need to see something in return. It would make more sense for us to have him for a year and let him go for nothing than to sell him for a say £1M now. RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - Stillclem4england - 05-30-2025 How many loans can you get from one club at our level? Phillips was excellent in the home game v Stoke. He’d be just what we need. Can’t see Mikey Moore being available. Will probably be on a big salary at Liverpool so expect his demands will be high, even if he’s on a bosman. RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - Lurker#3 - 06-10-2025 Nat Phillips would be a great signing. Hugely experienced, good age for a CB, and will be looking for somewhere to call home for the next 6-10 years. Never relied on pace and not really had an injury issues. He's in the latter part of his 20s and has played little more than 100 games. I'd suggest he's a poor man's Martin Kelly in terms of his general career path. Not a player I'd want blocking Taylor's opportunity for regular first team football. RE: ' Transfer Speculation Thread ' - baggiedave85 - 06-10-2025 Not sure hes a player I would be keen on - I am sure there are better options out there. I would have liked us to go after Darling or Dunne - both free transfers and good championship players, and both seem to be leaders in their clubs which is something we do need |
