RE: Summer Transfer Window Thread - SW4Baggie - 09-05-2020

Rico Henry being linked with pretty much half the PL today...

Burnley, Villa, Brighton, Palace, Us, Newcastle alongside PSV and Olympiakos (as well as Leeds and West Ham as usual) all monitoring. Brentford expected to want £6-7m.

£6m would be an excellent price if we’re serious about another LB.

He is good but no better than Gibbs who was quality today. Similar injury records too.

Henry has just turned 23, Gibbs is 31 at the end of the month

Gibbs experience could be vital this season.  Just don't get the hard on for replacing Gibbs when we have much weaker areas.

A fully fit Gibbs for 38 games this season would be a brilliant asset... he'd be one of the first names on the teamsheet however he managed less than 20 games last season and his injury problems have been clear for most of his career.

Genuinely I think we should be looking for a right back well ahead of an LB.

Agreed

RE: Summer Transfer Window Thread - Lillwall's left foot - 09-05-2020

A fully fit Gibbs is a top quality footballer. Injuries are why he didn't play more internationally and why Arsenal let him go. Any left back we sign only plays if he is absent and we have other areas that need strengthening. Fingers crossed that this this is the year he goes injury free.

See Nixon has picked up the Batshuayi link. Apparently Chelsea struggling to attract any interest in a permanent deal so they are set to give him an extension before loaning him out. Palace and Newcastle also looking, although Palace can’t take him if they end up loaning Gallagher.

No idea if we are going to sign him or not but just watching a video of him, yes it's a highlights video so only shows the good bits, but I didnt actually realise how good he was at holding onto the ball, I get hes a striker and first job is to score but tbh I'd be quite happy signing him,
