RE: It's The Ashes (again) - SausEggBaton - 06-29-2023 Get in! Positive morning session. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Ted Maul - 06-29-2023 It's as if they were listening. Hopefully even Baz has mustered the energy to give them a serious bollocking after yesterday. A much better start this morning. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - ChamonixBaggie - 06-29-2023 Much better this morning and keeping them under 400 wouldn't represent a total disaster I suppose. I still think we'll get skittled slogging on this top however. Aus being 316 for 3, they've absolutely let it slip losing the next 4 wickets for 50 odd runs. If we can get them out for around 400, that's a definite win. Also, for the 1000th time, Bazball isn't just slogging. it's just batting positively. Granted, I don't think we've got it in us to bat as well as the Aussie top order did yesterday, but still. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - ChamonixBaggie - 06-29-2023 Gonna have to disagree there I'm afraid (for the 10000th time...). Australia bat positively. You can bat positively whilst protecting your wicket. At Edgbaston we lost several wickets slogging and if you didn't see that we were watching a different game. I'm not anti bazball. I like the attacking fields, going for wickets rather than worrying about run rates. I like the positive declarations, going for a result than just grinding out a drawer. I just think the batting has become sloppy at times, especially from Stokes who seems to be desperate to prove a point. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Albionmad - 06-29-2023 Aussies 416 all out. I have a bad feeling about this RE: It's The Ashes (again) - SuperBob2002 - 06-29-2023 About as good as we could've hoped for. Damage was done yesterday, however. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - wba13 - 06-29-2023 From 316/3 to 416 all out is a big plus for England, 13-0 at lunch means we’ve had an excellent morning. It’s not all doom and gloom. Absolutely, we've done well to capitalise on a couple of Aussie mistakes last night, and restrict them to 316 from a very very strong platform. Need another 2 big England sessions, and we'll be level again. Tough to see though with that bowling attack. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Ournextstriker - 06-29-2023 250-3 will be a good score at COP and give us a chance of FIL |
