Lady D has signed up to do a half marathon at the start of September, I've politely decline the opportunity, I just can't train to those sort of distances in the summer.

On the plus side I've probably sweat twice as much weight out as I would on a regular run.

I went out just after 6am for a 4 mile run. Was drenched by the time I got home!

Decided to try and go out early doors for a 10k yesterday, was too hot by 9am and spent most of the day trying to cool back down. Lesson learned.

Annual sigh of relief as my marathon ballot result comes back unsuccessful!

I’m still awaiting my annual rejection

Ran it in 2019 and would do it if I was picked but I'm always secretly glad when I'm not.

How we all doing? Got through the lottery and will be doing my next marathon in Tianjin in October. I greeted this news by falling over like a tit (literally the first time I've ever tripped up running) and bruised a rib but feels like should be recovered in time for the race. Ran a 10km this morning and was manageable but now have a twinge in my knee.

Is it possible to sign up for a race and feel in good form in prep for it? Dodgy

I'm moving a little more again after a persistent niggle that has kept me to 20 miles a week for the majority of the last 18 months.

Aiming for some proper running and a few races next year.

RE: Running Clique - Midget In A Pinstripe Suit - 09-30-2023

I’m probably the fittest I’ve ever been, ran 3 x 10k last week and only managed to get I it for a quick 5k this morning due to working late far and other bollocks getting in the way. Itching to get out again next week though which I guess is a good sign.

Has anyone got any trainers recommendations? Probably not buying for a while but interested what you all recommend. I'm clocking 100km a month and for races I've done two marathons and three half marathons this year. Know I get a lot of mileage but I bought some Bondi 8s in April. Very comfortable and good for long runs but already the heel fabric is starting to flare out and come loose which am disappointed in since how much they cost. Thanks in advance hope you're all well!

I wear Adidas Ultraboosts which are pretty damn comfortable.

Although when the time comes to get a new pair I'll probably downgrade a bit to something cheaper as I'm doing nowhere near the mileage I used to.
