Dike's fabled return is January also, so we probably still need one of those 20 goals Strikers/Forwards.
Taylor will presumably be recalled from his loan spell to replace McNair.
I can see Wallace, Swift and possibly Diangana being shipped out in January, and wouldn’t be surprised if we terminate the Dobbin loan. That would enable quite a lot of tweaking of the squad.
But the big one could well be Maja being sold. If it’s true that a couple of Spanish clubs are talking about a €17m transfer then there’s no way we’ll be turning that down, and that would see 2 or 3 new faces come in.
Unfortunately, if Maja does leave you can kiss this seasons promotion chances goodbye IMVHO.
I also see Wallace & Diangana leaving, and Bobbins being sent back.
There are minor rumours, and very minor I must admit, that we have already reached out to a couple of "large/medium" player agencies like Unique (Grady's) and CAA (Bart's) - for who's available at CB and FW in Jan.
Hard to say that re Maja. If he goes for £15m and we use some of the money well then we could well end up with more goal firepower and more creativity.

The question is "would be stronger with Maja or with £10m to spend?"

With Ian Pearce holding the reins I'd keep Maja thanks.

Maja will only have a year left on his deal come next summer so that may also be a factor in any transfer decisions should we receive a hefty offer for him.

Depends on whether we spend it on transfer fees or on a high quality loan (or two).
RE: '24 Transfer Speculation Thread - Remi_Moses - 11-25-2024
If we sell players or not Several will be seeking pastures new any way.
Grady, Wallace should be moved on if possible. Dike looks as though he's not going to be returning soon so he's another we should unload if possible. Maja is a difficult one, but if a good offer comes in he has to go, that's how we operate as a club now. The players who are making the chances for Maja are IMHO just as important.
Interesting times ahead.

Diangana will be gone next summer anyway with his contract up. If we are to get rid of Wallace we're going to have to take a big hit paying up the rest of contract as no-one is going to be paying what we are for player who looks like a busted flush. As for Dike, the reality is that if he can't come back to fitness with us it's most likely the end of his career unfortunately. I very much doubt there'll be an option of 'unloading him'. I really hope it doesn't come to that though. It would be great to see him back in the new year.

Agreed re Dike.
Re Jed, we’d only have to pay the difference better what he’s currently earning and what he’d get elsewhere (I suspect about 50% on a one-year deal somewhere). More a case of getting the bulk of his wages off the wage bill for 18 months. We might even get a nominal transfer fee. He’s made connects previously great he’d rather take a pay cut to get regular game time. He does seem the type to take that approach.

A few names coming up as options available for Jan...but for forward players I am not sure other (prem) clubs would loan us players under CC given ow he approaches games
