She doesn't know this plan, yet Big Grin

Great city with some fabulous food and drink. A wealthy one too.

They've lost their goalkeeper to Liverpool (sold before last season but loaned back) and sold their best CB to Arsenal. CC has been able to spend 10m against 26m brought in (Euros). They've (so far) kept hold of Hugo Duro who has been Carlos' main forward player.

Bookies odds suggest a top 10 finish at worst, Europe would be a fantastic achievement imo. Just wish we could see what he could do with a decent budget.

Half of me wishes we don't!

Not a bad start.

Next game Barcelona away.

Sunday 8:00 pm our time.

I'll think I'll see if there is a stream available.

A tough game early in the season.

Barca seem a step too far for Carlos since he moved to La Liga. They annihilated them twice last season and are 3 nil up before the hour today.

Tbf there’s no disgrace in getting tanked by either RM or Barça given the budgets they have, when they’re on it there’s very little stopping either.

Think this year will be a slog for CC, if he gets them anywhere near the top half with the players he’s lost he’s done a cracking job.

As I have always said CC is a great firefighter. His problems begin when he has options and expectation to deliver upon. Hard to judge too much on today, all that being said.

If anything Valencia are more of a mess this season than last, they've sold the best players and done very little to replace them.

I wasn't suggesting otherwise, but they beat Madrid last season, so was really that he hadn't found a way to nullify Barca yet.

Exactly, and in fairness I’m not sure when CC has had the chance to do anything other than firefight?

The one season he had a settled owner at Huddersfield he’d have promoted them if VAR had done its job…

Weren’t suggesting you were buddy, just saying those two tend to dick everyone regardless Big Grin

He caught Madrid at the right time last year - that’s not to undermine what was an excellently executed plan, but he won’t get that chance this season I’d imagine.

Finished now. Played Barca 3 times in 9 months. 7-1 and 6-0 in the Camp Nou, 5-0 at the Mestalla. They've only lost one other game by more than a 1 goal margin, a 3 nil home defeat to an Alvarez inspired Atletico.
