You sound like a viler. I did say that Wrexham aren’t going away. Lots forecast a relegation battle for them and Blues. They are going to be a pain for a while. Championship level revenue in League Two. History means little with how they’re operating

Well no one's ever accused me of that before.  I couldn't care less about any other club, it's simply sarcasm.

To be fair they looked every bit relegation fodder, and Parkinson was favourite for the chop for a good few weeks in September.

Fair play for them for turning it around, with a big outlay of course.

They're definitely a more effective side than us or Blues currently.

It is well worth watching regardless of the football.  The fans have had a shit time of 15 years in the National League and were bust for years until the the Rob and Ryan duo turned up.

They then employed clever people in key commercial  positions.   and invested steadily and carefully and in effect have now turned Wrexham into a global brand.

People come from all over the world to buy a pint in The Turf pub where the club was founded.  Merchandise sales must be huge and the income from Disney will be substantial.

The promotion year with Ben Foster in goal is great viewing.

Putting aside any instinct to pour vitriolic envy on a plastic USA media inspired  bullshit fairy story, their fans are not dissimilar to us. They have had a load of shit to deal with, they have maintained the faith and truly love their club.  Any one of us could identify with the long suffering fans that feature in various episodes.

I doff my hat to manager  Phil Fucking Parkinson.  I doubted he had the nouse to create a winning team in this league, but take a look at where they are and where we are in the league.

Finally, what the media exposure has done for the town is truly inspiring.  Businesses have opened, the town centre is buzzing, there is a sense of optimism and any true football fan who had the piss taken out of them at the age of 6 because they did not support a Saudi mafia owned corrupt apology for a club, will look on with benevolent envy and wish them well.

It's on Disney+  it is a great watch.

I wouldn't go that far, when I came back over for Christmas popped into Wrexham a few times and I've never actually seen the town centre so quiet and that was a few weeks before Christmas when it should of been buzzing. Fair enough they have done a lot for the town but it still has a long way to go yet.

Conversations that will never take place

"Do you remember that save from Ben Foster the year we got back to back promotions?"

" Yes but that year  our P/E ratio was shit and we hadn't amortized our capital costs sufficiently to issue an interim dividend"

I don't see anyone countering that point on here.  I just see people questioning a valuation of £350m (and some scrutiny of how they've made money (and paid money to the Hollywood Boys) as part of that.  Ben Foster's heroics bare no impact on that.

Like most of my provocative posts, the ones on this thread were written under the influence of alcohol.  Just having a bit of fun really.

But I must say that football fans from all clubs wallow in their particular period of misery which makes me wonder why the fuck we do it.

The Wrexham fans are living the dream and good luck to them.  I doubt if right now they give a fuck where the money is coming from or going to.

I will always be proud of the Black Country trait to find misery in a lottery win.

RE: Wrexham - baggiebloke - 02-13-2026

Wrexham have never had it so good.

It's also now a city.

It seems any inbred central gets city status. The more fingers the better.

RE: Wrexham - Derek Hardballs - 02-13-2026

As soon as Hollywood move on, so will Wrexham move down the leagues again, just like Wigan.
