Seems even CC isn't immune to his players getting on the beach after securing survival. Sponsored by Apollo? RE: Corberan Watch - Old Fart - 05-23-2025 A difficult away game this evening ( Friday) at Real Betis who are in 6th position and certain to finish there regardless of results. Real Betis are based in Seville a lovely city but likely to be bloody hot - 29c at the time of writing. Could well end up as a end of season kick about. RE: Corberan Watch - Old Fart - 05-23-2025 CC 1-0 down at half time RE: Corberan Watch - Jacko - 05-23-2025 Finished 1 a piece. RE: Corberan Watch - Squid - 05-23-2025 A very good away point. RE: Corberan Watch - Old Fart - 05-23-2025 Now guaranteed to finish 12th and possibly 10th depending on the last match. My mistake that was their last game On his arrival Valencia are currently on 27/11/2024 Played 17. Won 2. Drawn 6 Lost 9. 16 F. 26 A -10 GD Points 12. Position 19th (out of 20) Form. L L L D D 4 points from safety. final position Played 38 won 11 drawn 13 lost 14 F 44 A 54 GD - 10 Points 46 final position 12th So I reckon he played 21 won 9 drew 7 and lost 5 F 18 against 28 GD still -10. He had a couple of heavy losses against Madrid clubs at the start. Average points in his tenure shows they added 34 points so an average of 1.62 per game. Based on that form for the whole season, they would have finished on 62 points in 6th position ahead of last night's opponents Real Betis. I think I got the figures right but feel free to correct any errors. So to answer the opening post question, is he the Messiah or a very naughty boy, I'd be leaning towards the former if I was a Valencia fan. My work here is now done. Worth noting that the squad is not top 6 material… it’s a decent squad and was certainly not bottom 3 but it’s decidedly mid table. CC has done a remarkable job to potentially drag them to a top half finish going into the final day! RE: Corberan Watch - Birdman1811 - 05-24-2025 I can never say enough just how good Corberan is, we were lucky to have him, and it's a shame we had to have him while facing so many issues, had we had him when we had parachute money and could build a good, competitive squad, we'd have got promoted. He got the playoffs with only BTA as a striker FFS! No cover for BTA either, forced to use Jed Wallace there at times, we were always hard to play against and no one saw us as an easy game. There's a reason most of the rest of the league, fans, players and managers said Corberan was the best in the league. Totally agree. Looking back, it's like we were handed a Get out of Jail card. Now all we need is to find another one! |
