We paid decent money for Zohore, if we signed those 2 as well I just don't see where he'd fit in.
Austin is the main signing if it happens.

We've made a £30m profit on sales in the last 12months, and reports have already stated there's money in the budget from last season remaining.

We've also reduced our wage bill significantly last season with so many players leaving/vs arrivals and wage differences.

Austin is likely to be a minimal fee, with Saints contributing to his wages, and neither Diangana or Periera will be commanding big wages due to where they're coming from... and the fees will barely be a million pounds combined.

We've also been willing to drop £8m for Ajeti, £15m for Maupay, so there is no shortage of funds... If Gayle is available on loan, lets get him in and worry about how we get everyone on the pitch tomorrow.

Absolutely. It's a myth that we can't afford also to get Gayle in. If we're going to go up we should be willing to push the boat out a bit and we've already cut our costs massively.

Signing Gayle isn't going to bankrupt the club, but it could take us up

We won’t sign Austin and Gayle.

No saying we shouldn’t. But we won’t.

Zohore for £8 million is sounding weirder by the minute, esp. if that's the grounds for not being able to afford Gayle

Pereira reported earlier to be having medical in London.

Gayle's salary 2.08m. Austin 3.5m  Don't understand why we can't afford to sign Gayle.

Believe we paid c4m....up to 8m with add-ons, promotion, goals etc...

As time ticks by and fuck all happens you can see our ambitions disappearing like early morning mist as the sun rises. Or in our case more aptly as a huge turd gets flushed down the bog.

We have two players having medicals and are negotiating on another. What do you mean “fuck all happens”?

Gayle is on rather more than £40k/week!

RE: Unofficial ALL TRANSFER DEADLINE STUFF thread - MassDebater - 08-08-2019

Gayle is on around £3m per year... (although some reports suggest between £55k and £65k per week).

Austin is on more with Southampton, £70k per week, around £3.5m per year...

So there's not much between their salaries. Although depending on which report is right, if Austin is a loan and Saints are paying half his wages then that does change things. If he signs permanent you have to assume it'd be around £40k per week (around £2m per year), but then there's also likely to be the £3m signing fee. (of course Bruce says no loan for Gayle, and he wants £15m for him...so that blows the Austin figures away in one go)
