Been working on my fuelling, ate a bowl of porridge an hour and a half before going out and bought a bottle of Lucozade half way round then had a few swings every 2.5 miles. Had more energy, which is good, but I did start getting cramp in my calves after about 14 miles. Need to look at that. I did not drink, haven’t had a drink for ages. Yeah I think it might have been the Lucozade, the sugar was handy though. Might look at water and jelly babies next week. RE: Running Clique - Duffers - 02-18-2019 16.2 miles yesterday, just the ten more to find. Doing the Brighton Half on Sunday. RE: Running Clique - Duffers - 03-10-2019 Did the Big London Half this morning and set a new PB - 1 hour 57 mins. Given the absolutely horrific weather conditions I’m pretty pleased with that. RE: Running Clique - Sotv - 03-10-2019 Not long started running and booked to do a 10K middle of April. Been running for probably a couple of months now and am able to do 10K in around an hour, which I don’t think is too bad for someone in their late 40’s? Currently I’m just focusing on distance, trying to incorporate a few hills into my runs and building that mentality of just keeping going, even if it feels like I have to plod for a bit. I’m not too worried about time, but it’s good to get a gauge for what I should be doing. My aim is to be able to do a half marathon around September / October time. Brum Half is in October, it’s a good one to aim for.
