Neither did super Bob but put the ball in the box and it was only going to end up in one place same with Austin, now we have decent wide players get behind the defence and fire crosses in and our front line will score more often than not imvho.

Rather simplistic way of looking at it. Wouldn't have been there without him and he gave his all for us. I understand his decision and wish him well. We shouldn't need him with what we now have if the squad is well managed and we are lucky with injuries. I am fairly confident of one of these!

Some of our best players weren't the quickest, but reading the game and arriving in the box
at the right time has it's rewards.
When I think about it the best strikers are rarely the fastest on their feet, but had the fastest brain.

Another thing to consider is that a player who has never relied on pace will continue to have an impact in his twilight years. Contrast Austin to Gayle, whose game relies on speed. I'd sooner had a 31/2-year-old Austin than a 31/2-year-old Gayle.
