Leeds circa 88 / 89. I was 18ish and seeing a girl from Barnsley and her Brother in Law was a Leeds nut. Went with him and his mates and it was terrifying. Stacey North fouled and then gobbed on one of their blokes right by where I was standing and I thought he was gonna get murdered! Don't think I said a word for 2 hours. I was glad we lost.

Loads of others, Bradford for Balis day, Bristol Rovers for "that" relegation, Villa few times.

I should add Wigan away as well but my old man going up to the program bloke ten mins before kick off saying “alroight moite, how much are the prowgrammes” saw us hastily relocated

Only once, at Villa Park. The Paul Scharner win.

Not sure how I managed to sit on my hands that day.

Two spectacular Old Trafford prawn sandwiching with the ex-wifes Dad (clearly the Utd fan here).

2015: 0-1 - Brunteh's freekick undeservedly being given to Jonas, Boaz Myhill was unbelievable in that game and saved a Van Persie pelanty.

2018: 0-1 - Where we won the title for Man City, Big Dave in charge after sacking Pardew - another keeper, Foster played a blidder. JayRod header from a Brunteh corner.

Jose Mourinho talking about not being on the moon but lots of other people are on the moon....?!?

RE: Up the wrong end - Tom Joad 25 - 02-09-2026

In the Doug Ellis, villa side, for the late Robbo equaliser. I was worried about youngest Joad who was in the upper North Stand. I needn't. When that goal went in it seemed like the entire upper North went up as one. Meanwhile everyone by me exited.

Upper North for the Lugano/Pepe Mel debacle. Got a bit lairy. Tbf, some Albion in there were taking liberties, one actually had our shirt on. He did get thrown out eventually. Coming out the villa fans in there got very agitated, gobby even, behind the police lines as the Albion end was filing out. A big group of Baggies broke through swinging punches AOTS. We got soaked walking in, got soaked walking home, saw us lose and throw away a 2 goal lead then nearly got thumped by our own fans. I've had better evenings.

Not much in recent years, but did 3 visits to Leeds with a Leeds mate where I kept quiet. Lost two of them- the other was a 2-2 draw where we came back from the dead looking like we'd lose by 4-5, but Bartlett and Goodman scored.
Was at Blues a couple of times, one in a corporate box and the other when we beat them in the cup with Sick Vik having a good day.
Have done it 3 times at Villa, most notably the infamous Brendon Batson back pass game.
Also did it a couple of times at Cov, most memorable was the 5-0 win in the cup under Mowbray Mk 1.

I believe Bolton and Blackpool have both got hotel rooms that now open onto the pitch, however you can actually be fined if you open the curtains during a game as you could be drinking alcohol in your room and would then breach the no alcohol in view of the pitch rule.. So they warn you that you might getting fined, and not to open your curtains if you book on a match day... bizarre!

That's bonkers. I'm really tempted to try.

RE: Up the wrong end - Boinger - 02-09-2026

3 games I remember, 2 v Blues. 3-2 away win when Super scored two late back post headers in last 5 mins. Then at home, the Sneekers smash and grab. Think both were about 96/97. Then 2002, that game at Bradford, Igor you bloody hero.

Oh yeh and first season in Prem at Anfield sat in Kop when Robert’s got kicked up in the air, no pen and Murphy came on and saved Owen pen I think.
