Arf!

RE: Corberan Watch - Old Fart - 04-18-2025

Just thought I would add to the upbeat mood post-Coventry debacle.

Rayo Vallecano vs Valencia tomorrow ( Saturday 19th  1:00 pm).

Rayo are another Madrid based team currently in 10th position on 40 points but with a better goal difference than Valencia, who are three points behind in 14th position.

A win for CC could put them up to 11th place.

I'd say a top 6 finish looks unlikely now but 7th place is a possibility.

Rayo means lightning apparently.  That could be a good name for Swift.

The "Los Franjirrojos" hold a special place in their hearts for our Laurie.

I didn't know that - nice one.  Poetry in motion.

1-1 draw.  Looked like a good game.  Valencia equalised at the end of the game with a bizarre goal.

Kick off 18:00 hrs at home to Espanyol ,  a Barcelona based team,  on the same number of points as Valencia -38 who have a six goal difference advantage.

If Valencia win they go up to 12th in the league and just 3 points off 7th position,  but having played one game more than surrounding teams.

Form is D W W W D.

Look at all those draws. It just isn't good enough....

Carlos has done a fair job, Valencia were drastically under performing so let's not get carried away. He's gone so we wish him well and move on.

Feel free to move on.  I'll continue to watch with interest.
