We finished the 2nd half with a makeshift defence, and we paid the penalty. For the 30 minutes we had something close to resembling our first team goal we looked ok.

That's how I saw it. Not a disaster. Some promising youngsters given minutes.
Until their second goal we were the better team in the second half.
There's some right depressives on here!

I didn’t expect anything from the game but it just confirms the paucity of our playing squad.

I've not bothered reading this fred since 5.00pm, because I can guess it's full of negativity and pant wetting.

My thoughts - -

Whitwell looked hopeless playing deep but much better when he was pushed up in the second half. May have something to offer.

Imray is a poor defender in a back four. Gilchrist better IMO, but underlines how much we miss Styles for his ability to move the ball forwards occasionally.

Maja is a mere shadow of the player he used to be. We need Heggo to stay fit.

Jimbo and Hindo. What are they for?

On this showing, we need Jed playing. Who'd have thought?

Bostock is worth the odd sub appearance in the league. Ramsay should try it.

It's the Cup, which does not matter. We had 7 or 8 regular starters missing from the initial XI. We ended with no actual centre backs on the pitch. Perspective needed.

Absolute shambles as a club and it looks very difficult to see us surviving at present as where is a win coming from?
So predictable that we’d go out with a whimper today though you may have thought ER might have tried to have a free shot at winning a game rather than waste the first half with negative garbage.
Really, he’s looking as clueless as Mason as to how to run games and, unless you win games you ain’t staying up.
Blackburn immediately get a new manager boost and thier win negates our recent draws.

It’s this for me, could have had some fun today with no pressure, win or lose. Instead we had the same, insipid, defence minded, disorganised shite where no-one really knew what they were doing. The squad is a state, but Ramsay looks beyond shite. Plays the kids and puts them in shackles with his set up.
Not one of us is surprised we lost, although maybe surprised we scored.
Blackburn pull off the result of the season after 5 minutes with their new manager, we look like we could get to 2027 without a win.
We need a reset, big time.

Oh but according to Todd Grimshaw,“We came here with multiple objectives. We came here and we wanted to win and we wanted to be competitive, but I also wanted to look across the group after the game, irrespective of the outcome, and feel like we were in a better place that we were 90 minutes ago. Ultimately, I firmly believe that’s the case.”

So the result nor the manner of it weren’t among the objectives? I don’t see how we’re in a better position, besides less games to play, oh and a possibly injured ‘keeper you don’t seem to like much anyway. I get that he has to say something positive, but I’m getting very tired of superlatives instead of results.
