RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Borin' Baggie - 06-18-2023 Such a shame Australia decided to take their sweet time bowling on Friday so we lost 8 overs. Reckon that's the draw, England will want two sessions tomorrow but will be hard to bowl Australia out after tea and Tuesday looks like a washout. RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Tom Joad - 06-18-2023 I went yesterday. At the time it seemed a hard watch as Australia played an old style cautious innings on a flat pitch, it was a statement they won't get drawn into Bazball. England did really well to persevere and but for a few errors should have a bigger lead. If only Broad had got Smith straight away, it would have been the best hat trick ever. All in all, England must be slight favourites but the injury to Moeen may prove key. Pity the weather isn't promising. I’ve got a sizeable wager on the draw based on the weather forecast, but it’s probably not wise to predict anything! RE: It's The Ashes (again) - SausEggBaton - 06-18-2023 Oh dear, why couldn't have kept raining for the rest of the day? RE: It's The Ashes (again) - SuperBob2002 - 06-18-2023 Crawley has to be dropped. He's not up to standard. He won't, but it's frustrating that the whole country can see it apart from the selectors. Sorry Jonny - you have to open RE: It's The Ashes (again) - Hughie Reed 31 - 06-18-2023 Don’t think they’ll be back on today if the rain we’re having is anything to go by. That Ricky Pointing is a smug bastard RE: It's The Ashes (again) - SausEggBaton - 06-18-2023 Positively biblical where I is. Whilst I concur that Foakes should keep wicket, it's not as clear cut who has contributed more to England's cause in this match .... Crawley or Bairstow. Equal amount of runs in the first innings but at least 4 missed opportunities by Bairstow when the Aussies batted. That puts Bairstow second in my book. Plus Crawley got a beauty from Boland second time round. |
