Intrigued to see that he played 3-4-2-1. Didn't work out but as has been said no shame in losing to Athletico. Is he becoming less fixed in his approach?

Not sure CC is an ideologue like Val, Amorim, Klopp, Bielsa etc. I think he sets his team up in a shape he thinks best fits, but his approach is underpinned by strict instruction, very little creative freedom and solid defensive structure.

In other Spanish news, the board’s adopted 4th tier team CE Europa have been knocked off the top of the table, losing 2-1 away to a team near the bottom. In scenes very reminiscent of our recent game against Sheffield Wed, they thought they’d snatched a point by equalising in the 93rd minute, only to let the winner in 2 minutes after.
