RE: The managerial shortlist - Kit Kat Chunky - 01-01-2025 He will have to win me over, but I'm prepared to give him time. If it's tippy-tappy on the deck from Palmer, then I can't see the crowd warming to it, but others have said his Notts County were a good watch. I agree it’s changing at the higher level but at our level and all through the pyramid we see average managers playing the same tactics or a variation on Pep ball whether the players they have at their disposal are good enough to or not. It’s like they have all gone through an identical coaching system… oh My problem with modern trends is when people place too much emphasis on them rather than results which are the be all and end all of any football or sporting success. Innovation and using modern tools should be a given for any club at a professional level but only as a tool not the driving force behind every facet of management which I’m seeing with a few managers such as Val etc. The game is still about 11 humans trying to kick a bag of wind around a patch of grass… better than the other 11 humans and all the vagaries that brings to any sport. I've applied for an account several times and never been accepted. RE: The managerial shortlist - wba13 - 01-01-2025 Williams now 15/8 on sky bet next Heitinga at 11/2 so his odds are shortening. RE: The managerial shortlist - Stillclem4england - 01-01-2025 On the basis we seem to be prioritising Championship experience and coaching credentials - and that Danny Roehl would be out of our reach - I am very surprised Cifuentes hasn’t been mentioned. The improvement between QPR at home and away was absolutely incredible. Impressed with how he got QPR to finish the season so strongly they were my outside tip for the play offs. They promptly sank to the bottom 3 in Septemer. RE: The managerial shortlist - Stillclem4england - 01-01-2025 Yes I did too - and Cardiff and Stoke (!) - but they are comfortably mid-table now.
