BTA?

£4 million MAX. He's bang average and now mid twenties, not a young prospect out of the Man City academy with England caps at every unders age group level...

Transfermarkt only values him at £3 million FWIW.

I would be expecting 7/8 Million for BTA.

No where near the the value of Delap with his Man City and England youth pedigree. Along with his age.

But, he has shown considerable improvement and has scored over 10 goals twice in a row in a team that struggles to create good opportunities.

RE: '24 Transfer Speculation Thread - Man from delmonte - 07-24-2024

The fact that Delap has come from Man City means absolutely nothing in terms of his quality. I'm not saying that he's a poor player but the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd have made huge amounts over the years selling utter dross that smaller clubs have paid a premium for just because of whose youth system they came out of. You only have to look at Sheffield United paying £23.5m for Rhian Brewster. Scored loads for England U-17s and was clearly very talented as a kid but barely looks like a footballer these days. I see Ben Woodburn, who was supposed to be a future Liverpool megastar a few years ago, has just joined Salford City on a free at the age of only 24.

Also, if you're going to use Delap's England record as justification of his inflated fee, his scoring record is fairly unimpressive at international level, certainly in the higher age groups (4 goals in 17 games for the U-19s to U-21s).

Whilst I don’t think BTA is worth anywhere near £10m, that transfer fee for Delap was insane. How many goals has he actually scored in his Champ loan spells? If he was from a different club I’d suggest his value would have been a tenth of what he went for.

It’s not unusual for players to move at 3-4x their TransferMarket values - Fellows is valued at £600k on there for example…

Delap deal is up to £20m, but surely his price is upped to help Man City with FFP as he came from their Academy? It's not a true reflection of his worth like the Seals to Everton one...

Anything anywhere near £5m for BTA and we'd have to consider it.

We were said to be interested in Ian Poveda, seems he’s now decided to join Sunderland and is undergoing a medical.

According to a journo in Belgium, we are in for Isaac Price from Standard Liege for 2 million euros.

Sacha Tavolieri
@sachatavolieri
? EXCL. #Standard Liege & West Bromwich Albion are in talks and working on a deal for a permanent move of Isaac Price.

? The North-Ireland player could leave for 2M€.

?️ Personal terms still underway and still need to be discussed on the basis of a 5 years contract as player’s keen on the move.

? #RSCL already looking for a central midfielder/box to box on the market to get a substitute.

? #Preston North End also interested but it’s #WBA that pushes the most now. #mercato #JPL #pnefc

Fine by me. 100% a luxury player. Great at stepovers but zero end product

Never seen the lad from Everton/Liege play but at 21 he's the right age to be spending a few quid on.
