RE: Corberan Watch - Jacko - 02-15-2025 They'll be 15th if they can etch out 3 points from a very good Villarreal side, from being dead and buried. Regards what is happening at Albion, I'm still willing to give it more time, Mowbray hasn't settled on a first XI, he didn't do any of this chopping and changing at Blues or Sunderland, he also to my knowledge has never been appointed when a side was already doing well (ie after a poaching), players who I do think would have played all the games have been unavailable for various reasons (Bartley and Maja), and the loss of Palmer is hitting us very hard defensively. RE: Corberan Watch - Josh1873 - 02-15-2025 Valencia's upturn, and our downturn... To think some of you on here wanted him out. Absolutely laughable. And I thought I was the board idiot. I need to step my game up to regain my crown. RE: Corberan Watch - Sliced - 02-15-2025 (02-15-2025, 05:51 PM)Squid Wrote: I'm going to say it here. I loved Corberan ball. For the first time in years, all the players looked fit and all the players knew their jobs and particularly at home, we could see out a match fairly effortlessly. Win, lose or draw, whenever he spoke about a match, he had always seen the same match I had. For two glorious years, I rarely disagreed with the team selection, or anything for that matter. We had one of the best managers available. Yep. We always do this. Even though our squad is now better than under Corberan, I think it's much less likely we'll get playoffs RE: Corberan Watch - Squid - 02-15-2025 (02-15-2025, 06:18 PM)Sliced Wrote:(02-15-2025, 05:51 PM)Squid Wrote: I'm going to say it here. We had one of the best managers available. We do indeed and we really have to let it go at some point. Good teams have good defences and can grind out results. That doesn't make any manager who can organise a defence the devil incarnate. As for Mowbray. He has the rest of this season to get it sorted. And even those who did had no influence. He went of his own accord, get over it. RE: Corberan Watch - Tom Joad - 02-15-2025 (02-15-2025, 05:51 PM)Squid Wrote: I'm going to say it here. We had one of the best managers available. I had to check I hadn't written that! We were so organised it appeared effortless. The times the opposition broke our lines and yet two minutes later had squared, passed back, ran out of options with the ball back once more in their own half. We rarely looked like losing and the draws were always bossed by Albion. Personally I never found it boring, it could be frustrating if a team really sat deep and we couldn't find the goal to make them change their game but all sides see that happen. We had one of the best managers available. I really rated Carlos and agree with you up to a point but the players were not super fit which was why we failed to score one injury time goal. We need time to adapt to a different style of play. TM has not had very long on the training ground. We had one of the best managers available. I found it boring at times, I find Pepball boring in general it has to be said. I admired the organisation of Cc but I despaired at the double standards of fans who berated Pulis for similar defensive organisation against far better opposition. I can’t remember one person on here who wanted CC sacked I remember people hoping he would be less rigid in his approach as it did feel over coached at times. There can be a balance struck between defensive organisation and allowing players a little more freedom, not to mention better set pieces and what we are seeing currently. RE: Corberan Watch - Josh1873 - 02-15-2025 We're failing to score now. RE: Corberan Watch - Borin' Baggie - 02-15-2025 Big game tonight, local derby (I know it's not the derby for Valencia but feisty nonetheless) against my favourite Spanish team who are fighting for a top 4 spot. |
