Yep. I think we need another midfielder too. A specialist sitter (In the Yok or Yac mould)
100% agree. A proper defensive midfielder, someone with energy (Molumby, Mowatt, TGH) to carry the ball forward and Swift/Wallace would make for one of the most balanced midfields in the league and would have genuine quality.
If its only a sitter were after, just let Jake do that job. He's one of if not the best in the league when allowed to just do the simple stuff. Hes just not an 8 or a 10 like he has tried to be at times.
Has Livermore ever really played this role for us though? I don't disagree that it has to be his position if he plays but I'm not sure about him being one of the best in the league at it. He always had Yacob/Fletcher/Barry with him in the PL and hasn't played as a proper holding midfielder in the championship for us.

Look at the difference when Yokuslu arrived and showed you how a holding midfielder should play. Nothing against Jake, he’s been a good servant and a decent player. I think we can do better.
Exactly. Jake or Molumby can play a holding role. Its the creative side and putting the ball in the net that are our issues. Thats where our transfer business needs to be done. If theres money left for a 'Yokuslu' then great.

Third in last season's lists of assists and goal chances created - behind Harry Wilson and Swift. I've always thought he was a decent player at Championship level. Certainly not against him joining us, should that happen.
I don't think we'll be bringing in a Pereira-type player any time soon so some solid performers will do.
Swift is effectively the replacement for Pereira, I'm not sure he's as 'good' but then Pereira was a very special player for us.
Don't think we'll get the sulks, histrionics and diving though with Swift!

We don’t need another 4 creative players imo. We’re not that far away. Dike, Grant, Robinson, Grady, Swift, Wallace, Phillips. Secure Wallace and add another striker as back up and then we must prioritise a DM and RB in my opinion.

I'd like to say he's a "Jake" of all trades, but in fact he's just a master of none. The only thing he's remotely good at is breaking up play, but, because of his shortcomings, it affects us almost as much as it does the opposition.
Before anyone jumps on the spacegoat bandwagon, I have nothing against him as a person, I've never met him, or a pro, he seems to give his all and cares about the club. I'm talking purely from a football perspective and that is why I think we need much better next year and someone who is a genuine DM.

Danny Loader, remember him from Reading who was being chased by a quite a few clubs. Eventually was picked up by Porto and has done well for their B team. Making the senior squad now but not used a lot, surely worth a loan call?

He used to play alongside Barry and Fletcher, and Fletcher was the one who got forward more. Also its where he always used to play for England in that season or 2 he got his caps.

Bournemouth have decided against signing Cantwell permanently and Smith has said he’s looking to sell or loan him out next season.
Undoubtedly has talent, maybe needs a fresh start.

Never rated him. I think he had one good season in the Prem but very much a passenger type player.
