I thought it might be too good to be true, we couldn't get that lucky.    Big Grin

He would be the leader we lack at the back, and fit nicely into the unimaginative, high wages, over 30 and zero resale value criteria we abide by when it comes to transfers.

Is that because of his age? I've never thought of CC as a leader. More a player that plays alongside a leader.

Hopefully we don't exclusively see over 30's players signed this summer

Pretty sure he captained Villa and Newcastle, and may have done it for Ireland too?

I don’t rate him as a brilliant defender but he’d be more than good enough for the Championship but adding his wages to the pot wouldn’t leave a lot for the fullbacks, central midfielders and wingers we need more urgently.

I’ve heard from a good source {Hienz} that Malcolm MacDonald will not be signing for the Albion. Why do the Media think that just because Bruce managed Newcastle that he wants half there reserves.
Darlow , Lewis, Clarke,Gayle ,longstaff and Hayden are all names linked with us.there could be more

Not enough of an improvement on what we have, in, probably our least position of concern.
Couldn't care less if they come from Newcastle or Dudley Castle as long as they make us better in positions we are currently poor i.e. CM, WB or CF!

Cheap, nast, lazy journalism.

He was captain for a couple of games at Newcastle when they had injuries but I think that’s it. I’m happy to be wrong but I don’t see him as a leader at all.

RE: Summer Transfer Window Thread - Dumbo - 05-20-2022

Binning Kipre, not going for Clarke only to sign Ciaran Clark would be absolutely comical. If that’s the setting the standard for our recruitment this Summer, we’re fucked.
