From the snippets (which could of course be bollocks) I hear and putting 2 and 2 together...
Patel has been wading through the due diligence and he's seen enough to either put him off or at best added time to the process.
In the meantime, Hearn and Farnell have offered an alternative deal which is more attractive to Lai and he's been taken in. Rumours of a partial sale to begin with providing Lai funding and no need for EFL scrutiny.
